Sam Stokes

Growing up in Tolar, Sam was a part of a family that associated itself with Christianity, but was never introduced to the true meaning of following Christ. In high school, he sought his identity through righteous acts and success in his future career goals and in school. He called himself a Christian, but in reality, he was taking advantage of God’s grace by using the gospel as an excuse to fulfill his own desires. This later led him to seek his identity in what his culture and fraternity found valuable in college.

About halfway through college, he engaged with the gospel and began to follow Jesus. During this time, his heart softened toward the gospel, and he began to learn from men in the community what it means to live for Christ. This created a heart of conviction for relationship-based discipleship and investing his time in others. He is passionate about spreading the gospel with his fraternity brothers and those who thought of life as he did before he found Christ. He is excited to be part of a ministry that focuses on reaching the lost world by building meaningful relationships, just as the ministry did for him.
