Sam Stokes

Growing up in Tolar, Sam was a part of a family that would associate themselves with Christianity but was never introduced to the true meaning of following Christ. In high school, he sought his identity through being “pure” as well as successful in future career goals and success in school. He called himself a Christian, but in reality, he was taking advantage of God’s grace by using the gospel as an excuse to fulfill his own desires. This led him later to seek his identity in what culture and his fraternity found valuable in college.

About halfway through college, he engaged with the gospel and began to follow Jesus. Through this time, his heart became softened to the gospel, and he started to learn from men in the community what it looks like to live for Christ. This created a heart of conviction for relationship-based discipleship and investing his time in others. He is passionate about spreading the gospel with his fraternity brothers and those who thought of life as he did before he found Christ. He is excited to be a part of a ministry that focuses on reaching the lost world through building meaningful relationships, the same way the ministry did for him.
