AJ and Haley Juarez

As a sophomore in college at Sam Houston State University, Haley’s life revolved around gaining the approval of her family members, sorority sisters, and best friends. She was completely turned away from the idea of a college ministry like Campus Outreach. In her sophomore year, the Lord used a faithful sorority sister to invite her to a spring retreat where the truth of the gospel was preached. Her heart was softened, and she surrendered her life to Christ. She graduated in 2018 and is eager to begin this sweet season of laboring on campus.

Anthony (AJ) was born and raised in Southern California to an irreligious household before attending San Diego State University on a scholarship to play football. He was introduced to the gospel message for the first time in his freshman year. This set him on the trajectory of wrestling for two years between submitting his life to Jesus and indulging in the restless party culture. It wasn't until both a career-ending injury from football, and attending an eight-week summer project his junior year would he taste and see that the LORD is good. Once AJ graduated in 2017, the Lord called him on staff with CO San Diego to minister to athletes and Greeks alike. In May 2019, AJ reconnected with a lovely lady named Haley on staff with CO Houston. AJ made every effort to get her phone number and succeeded.

Weeks turned to months of texting and FaceTime dates before AJ pulled the trigger to fly out to Houston to take Haley on an in-person date. A year and some change later, AJ proposed to Haley. They celebrated their nuptials on December 6, 2020.
